The StageCred guide
From a blank stage to a clear plan.
Everything you need to make your first seating chart, keep it safe, and get it to the people setting up the room.
01 · Create
Make your first stage plan
- 1
Choose a starting layout
Open the template closest to your ensemble, or choose a blank stage. You can edit and print without an account.
- 2
Match the room
Select an object to view its width, depth, position, and rotation in the Inspector. Set the stage deck to your venue’s dimensions. Editor dimensions are in feet.
- 3
Arrange the players and equipment
Drag existing objects or add new ones from the object library. Select a chair and use the Label field for a player’s name. Use a text label for section headings or crew notes.
- 4
Review the whole drawing
Check your counts, labels, section positions, and any spacing warnings. Confirm that the actual equipment and access requirements match your venue before exporting.
02 · Keep your work
Know where your plan is saved
A draft in this browser
The free maker saves locally as you work. It belongs to this browser on this device. Private browsing and clearing site data can remove it.
A plan in your account
Use Save to cloud to create an account or sign in. Your dashboard holds your saved plans. Check the save status before closing the editor or changing devices.
Free accounts include one saved cloud plan. Pro includes unlimited plans and version snapshots. Before a major change, Pro users can choose Save version, then use the Versions panel to return to a saved layout.
03 · Hand it over
Print or download your stage plan
- Open Export in the editor.
- Choose Letter, Tabloid, or A3 for the document.
- Select Print / PDF. Choose Save as PDF in your browser’s print dialog, or select your printer.
- Match the paper size, check the preview, and save. Turn off browser headers and footers if the print dialog adds them.
For a direct vector file, select Download SVG. Both formats include the plan title, section legend, and scale bar. Free exports carry a watermark; Pro exports are clean.

If something gets in the way
I cannot find the draft I made earlier.
Guest drafts belong to the browser and device where you created them. Try returning there first. Clearing browser data or closing a private-browsing session can remove them. If you saved the plan to an account, sign in with the same email and open your dashboard.
The PDF button opens a print window. Is that expected?
Yes. StageCred uses your browser’s print dialog to make PDFs. Choose Save as PDF or your system’s PDF printer, match the paper size selected in Export, and review the preview. Download SVG is available if you prefer a direct file download.
Why does my exported plan have a watermark?
Guest and Free-account exports include a watermark. Pro removes it from exports and share views. After upgrading, open the plan while signed in to your Pro account and export a fresh copy.
Can someone edit my plan through a share link?
The link gives view-only access. It does not let the recipient edit your saved plan. Anyone who receives the link can see the layout and its labels, so share it only with the intended audience.
Can I work on a phone?
You can open the site and view shared plans on a phone. Detailed layouts are easier to edit on a larger screen with a mouse or trackpad, especially when selecting small items or using keyboard shortcuts.
Are the spacing warnings a safety approval?
No. They are drawing checks to help you spot layout issues. Verify equipment footprints, player space, circulation, accessibility, and any venue requirements with the technical staff before setting up.
